Museum San Keller
The catalogue of the Museum San Keller adeptly translates the exhibition into book form, continuing Keller’s reflections on the relationship between art and the public sphere. The museum, which existed between 2008 and 2022, was at his parents’ home: they had accumulated many of their son’s works and held private viewings. In the first part of the book, double-page full-bleed images of the exhibition take readers on a tour of the apartment. The works exhibited on the walls have numbers that were superimposed onto the photos and can be tracked down in the list of works that follows. A second image section shows overlapping exhibition invitations and newspaper reports on Keller, as preserved by his parents in clear folders. The catalogue is just as low-key as the museum, and the no-frills design with large type has an unforced feel. The transparent plastic dust jacket and affixed labels beneath call to mind a self-assembled portfolio which contrasts with the high-gloss paper. The book would have fitted perfectly on a shelf or side table in the Museum San Keller.
