Olivia Pedroli
was born in Neuchâtel in 1982 and studied the violin at the Conservatory of Music in her hometown. After a period travelling abroad, which took her to New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Canada, she started writing her own music. In collaboration with Simon Gerber she released her first album in Switzerland The Smell of Wait in April 2005 under her stage name Lole. Hot on its heels, her second album, Sugary and Dry, followed, leading to overseas tours in France, Germany, Belgium and Scandinavia. Pedroli has opened for many well-known artists, such as Alain Bashung, Marianne Faithfull, Joe Cocker, Paul Simon, Donovan and Nouvelle Vague. Her third album, The Den, was produced by Valgeir Sigurdsson and was released in 2010.
