Biography

A summer collection submitted by Patricia Collenberg and Zuzana Ponicanova under the motto ‘urbane Landschaft oder Küchentuch-Karo?' (urban landscape or tea towel checks?) plays with a prominent design on numerous skirts and tops. It consists of hand-painted black or fluorescent orange checks on a white background combined with single-coloured materials. In addition, a winter knitwear collection invites you to carry out ‘excavation work in the field of physical feelings'. This is achieved through ‘multifunctional' and ambiguous items of clothing, where it takes just a flick of the wrist to transform, for example, the sleeves into a scarf or a roll neck into a hood. The two fashion designers use conspicuously and accurately designed labels to provide guidance through the different ways of wearing their wonderfully witty clothes, and reveal how elements can be exchanged and how cuffs, back warmers or collars can be added to individual outfits that are adapted to the current climate. The total of four submitted collections have two things in common. Firstly, the pieces rarely remain the way they appear at a first glance and, secondly, the individual pieces are all made with the greatest care and skilled material sensitivity. Many things are alterable and inspire their wearers to be creative.
