Sonja Eisl

Sonja Eisl (1976) is the Head of Cultural Infrastructure and Engagement for the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. She grew up in Baden (canton of Aargau) and studied theatre, film and contemporary history at the universities of Bern and Zurich. She has been active on the cultural scene for 20 years, focusing mainly on the performing arts. She was Co-Director of the Kleintheater Luzern from 2014 to 2023. Prior to that, Sonja Eisl worked as a dramaturge and PR manager at the Theater Tuchlaube in Aarau, a member of the management and the programme group at the Fabriktheater Rote Fabrik in Zurich, on the management team of the Tojo Theater in Bern’s Reitschule and a member of the programme committee at the Dampfzentrale Bern, as well as a freelance dramaturge, production director and culture journalist.
