The jury selected Rafael Edem Kouto this year for his third Swiss Design Award after being impressed by a new dimension to his always rigorous work, namely that of “fashion performance”. His critical designer’s perspective on sustainability, which he develops methodically, aesthetically and practically throughout his artistic career, is unique in the fashion world. We have nothing but praise for his approach.
