Petra Fischer

Petra Fischer (b. 1963) is a dramaturge, theatre educator, lecturer and curator. Born in Berlin, she studied theatre in Leipzig and then worked in Dresden, Berlin and Zurich. She was head of the Junges Schauspielhaus Zurich from 2009 to 2019. She has worked as a dramaturge and educator for young audiences at the Theater Chur since the 2020/21 season and as Artistic Director of the Swiss youth dance and theatre festival fanfaluca in Aarau since 2020. Among other things, Petra Fischer sits on the management boards of ASSITEJ Switzerland, the Theater Stadelhofen and Zirkusquartier Zurich. She also joined the German Academy of the Performing Arts in 2022. She was given an award by ASSITEJ Germany in 2015 for her contribution to children’s and youth theatre and won a Swiss Performing Arts Award in 2024. Petra Fischer is a guest lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and other institutions. She also acts a jury member and curator at various festivals and supports independent theatre groups as a production dramaturge and educator.
