Johanna Hilari

Johanna Hilari (b. 1989) works as a dramaturge and dance researcher. She grew up bilingual (German and Spanish) in La Paz, Bolivia and studied dance and theatre in Bern and Paris. In 2022, she completed her dissertation at the University of Bern Institute of Theatre Studies, where she has been working since the end of 2024 as a postdoctoral researcher in the SNSF‑funded project Soziale Choreografien (Social Choreographies). Johanna Hilari has worked as a freelance dramaturge in the fields of contemporary dance and performance since 2013 and is currently the resident dramaturge of the programme Danse & Dramaturgie CH, initiated by the Théâtre Sévelin 36 in Lausanne. She chairs the City of Zurich Concept Promotion Jury (Konzeptförderung) together with Mirjam Hildbrand.
