Jury report

Guided by an intersectional approach, this applied research project aims to explore the luxury and fashion industries through an original, even experimental, methodology that examines the status of two iconic artifacts. The Margiela mask and the Louis Vuitton Speedy Graffiti handbag are considered as starting points for the creation of a comprehensive mapping of the craftsmanship, technologies, values and narratives surrounding them. These artifacts are deconstructed to create prototypes that encourage reflection and debate on production and consumption practices in the fashion industry. The project takes the form of a collection of objects and the publication of a research book.
