Gianmaria Andreetta proposes to set up a platform within the Swiss Art Awards 2020 where artists and performers will be invited to intervene. This space mirrors Andreetta’s own practice, which addresses issues of textuality and temporality, giving them room to develop within the competition setting. In particular, the artist will work with texts that he himself has already commissioned, collaborating with the authors to rework them into ad hoc adaptations. “Show and Tell” thus neatly gathers together within a defined space many of the concerns of the youngest generations of artists, with their interest in the ephemeral, performance, but also the idea of work as a collective process.
