Sereina Rothenberger
Chair of the Jury
Sereina Rothenberger, born in 1981, has run the graphic design studio Hammer in Zurich since 2008 with David Schatz, and later joined by Jana Hofmann. Rothenberger held a professorship at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, latterly serving as a head of department. She has been a faculty member of the master’s programme in graphic design at the Vermont College of Fine Arts (USA) and has been joint head of the programme. She is currently teaching at the University of the Arts (ZHdK), the Bern Academy of the Arts and the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD), and is an advisor at the Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht.
Mathias Clottu
Der Schweizer Designer Mathias Clottu, geboren 1985, lebt und arbeitet in London. Nach seinem Abschluss an der École cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL) 2009 arbeitete er von 2011 bis 2016 bei John Morgan und gründete 2016 das Studio Mathias Clottu. Zu seinen Projekten gehören die visuellen Identitäten für die American Academie of Arts and Letters in New York und das Magazin The Fence, die Art Direction für den experimentellen Verlag Ligature Press, Bücher für MIT Press und Louis Vuitton, Architekturzeitschriften für die Accademia di architettura in Mendrisio und die ETH Zürich sowie Ausstellungsdesign für Institutionen wie die Royal Academy of Arts und das Barbican Centre. Er unterrichtet und ist europaweit in Jurys tätig.
Veronica Ditting
Veronica Ditting is a creative director and graphic designer known for a resolutely editorial approach. She works closely with photographers, artists and editors in order to realise ideas at their most definitive. Veronica was the creative director of The Gentlewoman and remained at the magazine for 12 years after its launch in 2010. In 2020–21 she was the artistic director of Le Monde d’Hermès. Veronica has received recognitions that include the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year and regularly lectures at cultural institutions. kyoto ddd gallery presented a solo exhibition of Veronica’s work in 2024.
Josse Pyl
Josse Pyl, born in Belgium in 1991, lives and works in Amsterdam. He studied at KASK and graduated from Werkplaats Typografie before completing a residency at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten. He had solo exhibitions at Annet Gelink Gallery, De Brakke Grond, 019 and Plus One Gallery, and participated in Publiek Park, Ornamenta, Typojanchi and the Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts. His work has been shown at Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, ArtBase Terneuzen and the Royal Palace Amsterdam. Pyl has taught at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Instituut and currently teaches at KASK in Ghent.
Marco Walser
Marco Walser, born in 1973, has been running the graphic design studio Elektrosmog in Zurich since 1999. After graduating as a visual designer from the Zurich School of Design (now ZHdK) and completing an internship in London, his work has focused on art, theatre, film and architecture. Elektrosmog received the Jan Tschichold Award in 2005 and collaborates with institutions such as Kunsthaus Glarus, Aargauer Kunsthaus, Theater Chur and the architecture magazine werk, bauen + wohnen. Since 2024, the studio has been responsible for the visual identity of Zurich’s Filmpodium cinema.
