Cedric Zellweger’s practice combines photography, sculpture, video game and interactive elements to examine the American culture of spectacle. Focused on tech giants and Elon Musk, his work explores how power, technology and pop culture converge into ideology and systems of excess. Blending satire and dystopia, he constructs a “critical cartography” of 21st-century capitalism. The jury highlights his use of hybrid materials and an imagery in which satire meets critique, echoing the dystopian visions of Hieronymus Bosch.
