Anne Bisang
Member of the jury since 2026
Anne Bisang (b. 1961) grew up in Japan and Lebanon before returning to Geneva, where she trained at the École Supérieure d’Art Dramatique (ESAD). After finishing her studies, she founded La Compagnie du Revoir and earned praise for her direction at the Théâtre Saint-Gervais, the Grütli and the La Bâtie festival. She represents a collective art that explores social and political issues and encourages activism. In 1999, she took charge of the Comédie de Genève, where she remained as Director for 12 years. While there, she developed international collaborations and opened the programme up to contemporary works. Keen on the idea of a people’s theatre, she turned the Comédie into a forum for debate and sharing ideas. She set up anne bisang productions in 2011 and then became Artistic Director of the Neuchâtel performing arts centre TPR in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 2013, a post she held until 2021. Anne Bisang won a Swiss Theatre Award in 2018.
