Andreas Klaeui (b. 1960) is a theatre critic and culture journalist. Born in Basel, he studied German philology. He was a reviewer and editor on Swiss radio’s SRF 2 Kultur until 2025, prior to which he was editor-in-chief of the culture magazine du until 2008. He has written for Basler Zeitung, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, NZZ am Sonntag as well as the specialist publications nachtkritik and Theater heute. In particular, he has been reporting for years on theatre and culture in the French-speaking region. Andreas Klaeui is a member of the board at the Swiss Association for Theatre Studies (SGTK), where he has co-edited the MIMOS publications accompanying the Swiss Grand Award for the Performing Arts / Hans Reinhart Ring. From 2017 to 2021, Andreas Klaeui was a juror at the Theatertreffen festival in Berlin.
