Heinz Gubler

(b. 1947) is a director and lecturer in adult, children’s and young people’s theatre and film. He trained as a theatre director at the Chelsea Art School and was a directorial assistant to Edward Bond. He met Peter Brook while working as co-director of the Theatre Upstairs in London. In Switzerland, his theatrical career has spanned the Claque in Baden, the group Spatz & Co. and the Innerstadtbühne Aarau, which today operates as the Theater Tuchlaube. His work as a director has taken him to the Schauspiel Frankfurt and the Theater der Stadt Heidelberg. He has also been involved in numerous independent theatre projects, produced various short films, worked as a lecturer and served as artistic director of the forumclaque and the myculture.ch competition, which was launched in 2007 by Migros Culture Percentage.
