Sister

by Ursula Meier

Sister is the tale of 12-year-old Simon, who lives alone with his sister Louise in a bleak, industrial town at the foot of an exclusive Swiss ski resort. Every day during the winter Simon takes a small cable car up the mountain where he steals skis and equipment from wealthy tourists to sell to children on his estate. This provides a modest but regular income. Simon’s schemes gradually become more and more elaborate. Louise, who recently lost her job, takes advantage and becomes increasingly dependent on Simon.
