Jury report

Confronted with the lack of women in metal workshops and her own desire to become a welder, designer Anna Zimmermann founded The Feminist Welding Club to learn and disseminate welding skills and reclaim space for women in a traditionally male-dominated field. Born in London and currently migrating to Vienna, the Club has thus far taught practical welding skills to more than 30 women. The jury congratulates this initiative to share hands-on knowledge, while simultaneously creating a community and advocating for more female representation in metalwork.
