Jury report
Johanna Hullár’s work is seemingly magical. The artist creates an immersive environment of flashy colours with tiny organisms frozen in the image or in blocks of ice: “moving still-lifes” that come alive when the ice melts. Working between photography, video, installation and sculpture, Hullár explores the metamorphoses and transformations that organisms undergo until they wither and die.
