The innovative, haptic three-dimensional prints are both striking and fascinating, as is Schlegel’s success in creating a unique venue for textile screen printing that offers established Swiss and international designers – as well as a number of Swiss schools – an opportunity to realise their textile visions. His work enriches the lives of all designers, and for that he truly deserves this award.
