Images ranging from the iconic to the familiar of the tenacious struggle of the Jurassic separatists summon the resurgence of a collective memory. Zoé Aubry works like an anthropologist in uncovering the iconographic traces of this tumultuous past by bringing together archival imagery and her own contemporary photographs, which evoke the vigor of the battle. Her photographic approach combines local history and individual experience to criticize today’s society.
