Jury report

Franziska Lüthy submitted her collection entitled ‘L'amour'. On the hanger, the outfits look conservatively modest, but this disappears as soon as they are put on and become delicately flowing items of clothing. With cuts that skilfully merge into one another, for which Franziska Lüthy was inspired by light tracksuit trousers, underwear, pyjamas and baby dolls, jersey fabrics are mixed with what are known as single-bed knits, which the designer designed and produced herself, in mellow pastel tones to form simple silhouettes with soft contours. In addition to the uniform character, it is mainly the details such as the extensive abandonment of fasteners (buttons, zips, etc.), the omission of decorations and the multifariously designed knitting, variations arise through the hole patterns and the interwoven threads of various colours and thicknesses, that surround each individual piece of this collection with an atmosphere that simultaneously creates a harmonious feeling of gentle warmth, comfort and subtle seduction.
