Swiss Design Awards – the 2014 winners

Bern, 13.06.2014 - The Federal Office of Culture (FOC) has named 20 winners of the Swiss Design Awards 2014. All the award winners will be honoured on 17 June, along with Alfredo Häberli, Wolfgang Weingart and Erich Biehle, the previously announced winners of the Swiss Grand Award for Design 2014. Works by the participants in the second round of the Swiss Design Competition will be presented in the Swiss Design Awards 2014 exhibition, which takes place in parallel with Art Basel.

The Swiss Design Competition is open to Swiss designers. The Federal Design Committee acts as jury. The competition consists of two rounds. In the first, the participants submit a dossier to the Committee, and those selected then go forward to a second round in which they present their work in the public Swiss Design Awards exhibition at which the Committee names the award winners.

This year’s awards go to 20 designers in the fields of photography (3), graphic design (9), fashion and textile design (4), products and objects (4). Winners can choose between prize money of CHF 25,000, a six-month internship at a well-known firm, or a studio residence of their choice abroad.
