Swiss Film Award 2013: live-streaming of ceremony on schweizerfilmpreis.ch

Bern, 19.03.2013 - For the first time in its history, the 2013 Swiss Film Award ceremony will be streamed live. Scheduled to begin at 7.15 pm, the webcast shown on www.schweizerfilmpreis.ch will offer viewers at home the chance to share in the excitement and glamour of the ceremony, which will be held this year on Saturday, 23 March in the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, Geneva. Guests at this illustrious event to honour the outstanding achievements of the Swiss film industry will include leading lights from the worlds of film, politics and culture

On the evening of Saturday, 23 March, the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva will roll out the red carpet for Swiss film industry VIPs. For the first time, members of the public will be able to watch a live webcast of the ceremony on www.schweizerfilmpreis.ch. The ceremony will also be screened in the foyer of Les Cinémas du Grütli in Geneva, as part of its "Nominees Week" programme.

A prestigious event
Fabienne Hadorn and Alain Croubalian will co-host the ceremony on the evening of 23 March in the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices. Music will be provided by the Bolivar Soloists and Efrain Oscher. Federal Councillor Alain Berset shall give the opening address, and the awards will be presented by Therese Affolter, Müslüm, Anatole Taubman and Isabelle Caillat.

2013 Swiss Film Award
The Swiss Film Award, which officially recognises the work of the Swiss film industry, is organised by the Federal Office of Culture in partnership with SRG SSR, the Association "Quartz" Genève Zürich, SWISS FILMS, the Swiss Film Academy and the Solothurn Film Festival.

The names of the 2013 Swiss Film Award winners will be available at www.schweizerfilmpreis.ch ("Media" section) and www.bak.admin.ch, from approximately 9.30 pm.
