Paul, 14 ans, consacre tout son temps à son vélomoteur au détriment de ses études et au grand désarroi de ses parents. Le jour où son engin disparaît, personne dans son entourage ne semble prendre la mesure de l'évènement. Très vite Paul retrouve le voleur, Karim, un jeune apprenti mécano de son âge. Débute alors une relation inattendue.
