(1976) After studying philosophy and literature and earning a doctorate at the University of Lausanne, Arno Renke is now a lecturer in literature at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB). He teaches bilingually in the Bachelor's programme in Literary Writing at the Swiss Institute of Literature and in the interdisciplinary Master of Arts in Contemporary Arts Practice, where he heads the Literary Writing and Translation Department together with Stefan Humbel. He conducts research within the framework of the research focus Intermediality at the BUA and is responsible for the Traduction - Relation project, financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). His work focuses in particular on translation studies, the relationship between philosophy and literature and between research and creation, as well as on questions of the foreign and exile.
